1948 Recording of I’ll Fly Away by the Chuck Wagon Gang inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame
In 1948 the Chuck Wagon Gang recorded I’ll Fly Away and sold the record on their radio show our of Fort Worth, TX. This album went on to sell over 1 million albums. This all happened before the RIAA existed to certify albums as Platinum or Gold.
2017 – “I’ll Fly Away” included on album that won the Grammy Best Roots Gospel Album of the Year
“I’ll Fly Away” was included on Joey+Rory’s Album “Hymns That Are Important To Us” that won the Grammy for “Best Roots Gospel Album” at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. This is the 10th time that “I’ll Fly Away” has been on an album that won an Album of the Year Grammy.
2016 – The Brumley Gospel Sing moves to the Mabee Center in Tulsa, OK
The annual Brumley Gospel Sing moves to it’s new home the Mabee Center in Tulsa, OK on the campus of Oral Roberts University. This is the 4th location for the annual festival that honors the legacy for songwriter Albert E. Brumley

I’ll Fly Away Foundation created by Betsy Brumley-Bernier and her husband Kevin Bernier to preserve our musical heritage while inspiring children to reach for their musical dreams. Bob Brumley inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame.
